Hi, I'm Rae.
I've spent over a decade behind the chair, and I've watched the same problem happen from both sides. Clients struggle to explain what they want. Professionals struggle to understand what clients mean. People spend enormous amounts of money trying to solve problems they don't have the vocabulary to describe.
Painted Brainz grew out of wanting to make that better.
I believe great beauty service starts before anyone picks up a brush, bowl, or pair of shears. It starts with understanding the person.
What We Believe
- We are not the client's advocate against the stylist. We are not the stylist's advocate against the client. We advocate for the relationship between them.
- A license is a baseline, not proof of every specialty. Knowing your limits is a professional skill.
- No shame in the chair. Reality before fantasy.
- Age is context, not permission.
- Aesthetic preference informs. It does not prescribe. The assessment never outranks the human.
- Trust cannot be bought.
- Luxury is a level of care.
- We do not fake expertise. If something is outside our expertise, we say so.
